We are a member-led campaigning organisation supporting & empowering low-income communities across the country to fight for a better life. We know that the economic and political set up in this country isn’t working for us, so we set up ACORN to give our people the power and representation they’re entitled to.

Black Training and Enterprise Group

The Black Training and Enterprise Group (BTEG) is a national charity delivering programmes for young black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) people aged 11-30 years. We conduct action research, operate as a learning partner for funders and provide a voice to government for BAME organisations.

Black Triangle Campaign

This group is established to galvanise opposition to the current vicious attack on the fundamental human rights of disabled people by the Government of the United Kingdom utilising “Work Capability Assessments” (as administered by ‘AtoS Healthcare Ltd’ on behalf of the Department of Work and Pensions ‘DWP’) to re-classify sick and disabled individuals as “fit for work” – in flagrant violation of all accepted medical, and human, ethical standards.

Bridging the Gap is a charity based in the Gorbals area of Glasgow with over 15 years experience of working with people from different backgrounds and cultures. They want to support families, create inclusive communities and inspire young people.

The Bristol Poverty Institute (BPI) is dedicated to multi-disciplinary research on the causes, effects and measurement of poverty around the world to inform effective policy and practice. The BPI is one of seven new Specialist Research Institutes established by the University of Bristol in 2017.

The Center for Economic and Social Justice (CESJ) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all-volunteer educational center, grassroots think-tank and social action catalyst established in 1984 to advance liberty and justice for every person through equal opportunity and access to the means to become a capital owner.

Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG)

CPAG use our understanding of what causes poverty to campaign for policies that will prevent and solve poverty; and we provide training, advice and information to make sure families get the financial support they need.
